Introduction fee terms

How introduction fees work

Version 0.2 (draft) · 16 October 2026

1. Who these terms are for

These terms apply to subcontractors and to bidders (for example prime contractors) who use TenderBender (“we”, “us”) for matched tenders and introductions. TenderBender is an independent service, not a government body. [TODO: legal entity name, company number, registered address]

2. Joining is free

Signing up, getting matched tenders by email and appearing in our network costs nothing, for subcontractors and bidders alike. You can leave at any time.

3. What counts as an introduction

An introduction is when we put a bidder in contact with a matched subcontractor for a specific public-sector tender, or include a subcontractor’s quote in a bid pack for that bidder. We always tell both sides who is being introduced and for which tender.

4. Both sides pay, and see the fees first

Before every introduction we send both sides a short written confirmation of the fees below. Either side can decline. If you decline, we don’t make the introduction and nothing is owed.

5. Bidders: a fixed introduction fee

The bidder pays a fixed fee of £[TODO: amount] for each introduction to a matched subcontractor that it accepts. This fee is due once the introduction is made, whatever the outcome of the tender. [TODO: invoicing point, VAT]

6. Subcontractors: a percentage, only if you win

If you win work through a TenderBender introduction, you pay an introduction fee of 5% of the value of that work, capped at £3,000 per introduction. “Winning work” means signing a contract or purchase order with the introduced bidder for that tender, or for related work within [TODO: e.g. 12] months of the introduction. If you don’t win any work, you owe nothing. [TODO: what counts as “value”, e.g. first contract value]

7. Telling us and paying

Subcontractors: if an introduction leads to work, tell us within [TODO: 14] days. We invoice after you are paid, or on the dates in the written confirmation. Payment terms are [TODO: 30] days. Prices exclude VAT where VAT applies.

8. Playing fair

Please don’t go around us to avoid a fee for work that came from our introduction during the period in section 6. If you already knew the other business before we introduced you, tell us within [TODO: 5] working days and no fee applies to that introduction.

9. What we don’t do

We don’t guarantee that you will win work or that any contract will be awarded. We have no influence over public buyers’ decisions, and no fee buys influence over any procurement. You are responsible for your own bids, pricing, insurance and compliance.

10. Your data

We share your business contact details only with businesses we introduce you to, and only after telling you. See our privacy notice.

11. Changes and law

We’ll email you before changing these terms. Changes never apply to introductions already confirmed. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. [TODO: confirm with legal review]
